The Drug Dealer is a very notable character who only appears as a NPC that sell various drugs, as their name implies. They appear wearing a blue hoodie.

NPC[ | ]

Drug Dealers have a chance to spawn almost anywhere in the Slums, and will still appear often in the rest of the Stages. They can spawn on the streets and walk around aimlessly and appear in almost any building, most notably they appear in Drug Dens and in Hideouts. In Uptown, they become rare and can only appear in Hideouts or imprisoned in Deportation Centers and Police Stations, due to the ban of drugs in the stage.

Unlike most other businesses, they are unaffected by some traits, such as Suspicious, Malodorous and Wanted.

They can either carry a Baseball Bat, Pistol or a Knife. When aggravated, they'll use drugs and syringes on themselves should they get attacked. These effects include Fast, Strength, Regenerate Health, Always Crit, Resurrection and Invisibility.

With The Law trait, or in the Law Abiding Law Enforcer Big Quest, Drug Dealers are always marked guilty by default, regardless of their involvement with a mission (unless the mission requires they be rescued). If a Drug Dealer spots a Mech Pilot riding a Mech or a character with the Scumbag Slaughterer trait, they'll become Hostile and will attack those characters on sight.

Drug Dealers are tagged with a syringe.

Quotes[ | ]

  • "What are ya buyin'?" — General Chat
  • "Thaaaaaanks!" — Bought a Item from the Drug Dealer

Notes[ | ]

  • Drug Dealers are always marked as guilty by default and even without The Law, killing or neutralizing them always give out more XP since they are always marked as non-innocents.
    • This also affects Goons and other NPCs working alongside or are aligned with the Drug dealer as well, automatically marking them as guilty in Drug Dens and in Hideouts if there's a drug dealer working in there.

Tips and Strategies[ | ]

  • While Drug dealers aren't much of a threat, after getting attacked, they will use syringes and drugs on themselves. They can become extremely dangerous under these effects (Especially Always Crit, Resurrection and Invisible). Take them out quickly before they inject themselves with a syringe or wait for the Drug Effect to run out.
  • When playing as the Cop, you'll always want to arrest them, as they are easy Guilty NPCs for filling up your marks. Arrest every one you find in your Big Quest.
  • Playing the Mobster, you'll want to threaten and shake them down. Some are wandering outside or inside establishments or in buildings they own. They can be easy targets for increasing your revenue especially when they're alone.
  • The drug dealer, unlike the Bartender and Shopkeeper, is not irritated by Suspicious, Wanted or Malodorous

Trivia[ | ]

  • In the early Chinese version of the game, Drug Dealers were renamed into Street Peddlers, and all references to drugs were removed or renamed. For example, Syringes were called Wacky Needles instead.
  • Out of all characters, the Drug Dealer has the second-least amount of dialogue and quotes. The Drug Dealer only has 2 quotes, only beating the Ghost who only has a single dialogue.
  • The drug dealer was meant to be an playable class, in the earlier builds, before being made unplayable, it's unknown how he would play due to having no abilities besides probably selling drugs if he made it out of concept stages, he's mostly unplayable mostly probably due to matt shifting away from a mature game to being more E10+ rating .
