The Killer Robot is an NPC in Streets of Rogue that only spawns during the Killer Robot disaster. It has more health than anything else in the game (1000 points, or 1400 with Extra Health for NPCs or 3000 with Full Health for All respectively), however, it is also the slowest and the rarest.

It will always have a Rocket Launcher in hand with 10000 ammo and will also use Melee attacks if it runs out of ammo (which can easily be forced using an Ammo Stealer).

If killed, the Killer Robot will always drop 3 items: a Giantizer, a Time Bomb, and a Rocket Launcher. After death, its body will flash for about 2 seconds before exploding, similar in function to Cop Bots, Slaves, and in the Exploding Bodies mutator.

Notes[ | ]

  • Gibbed cannot affect Robots or Electronic characters (including Cop Bots and the Killer Robot). It's unclear if this is because they are immune to status effects, or for the sake of realism, or both.
  • Since dead robots can't be gibbed, there is no way to bypass the post-death explosion caused by a dead Cop Bot or Killer Robot.

Trivia[ | ]

  • Before alpha ? the Killer Robot was really easy to beat. One could simply use an ammo stealer on it and then punch it to death.

Tips and Strategies[ | ]

  • With the right combination of Melee buffs, it is possible to defeat the robot via melee. For example being simultaneously affected by Giantizer, Critter Upper, and Strength.
  • Melee or not, it's extremely helpful to be Giant while fighting the Killer Robot. A weapon like Flamethrower, with its high ammo capacity and fast rate of fire, can kill the Killer Robot with relative ease when in Giantized form.
  • Most NPCs will not attack the killer robot even if they take damage from its rockets. Instead, they will run away from the killer robot as it approaches, but Cop Bot will try to attack it if attacked. So luring it to shoot at a Cop Bot and avoid the killer robot until it gets punched down is a good strategy.
  • It is possible to hack the killer robot and pick "Tamper with Aim" to cause the rockets it fires at the player to be off-center.
  • Since the killer robot has nearly unlimited ammo, one can use the explosions from its Rocket Launcher to break down walls and kill non-hostile NPCs more easily.
  • An effective way of killing the killer robot is hiding within a building made of indestructible walls. If one can get into a position where the robot won't approach them but still attempt to shoot them down, and create an angle in which the rocket will just about hit the wall, (around 60 degrees when the robot is in a doorway) it will damage itself with explosions as the robot almost never runs out of ammo.
    • You can also make it shoot an Elevator instead of indestructible walls.
  • Another way of killing the killer robot is to use the Ammo Stealer to take the robot's ammo. That way, it won't have any rockets to fire at the player. Unfortunately, the Ammo Stealer can only be found as a reward item for completing quests or looting safes and chests.
  • Another effective way of killing the killer robot is to lure it to an area with pitfalls and knock it into said trap. This method, however, does not give any drops, but it is counted towards the achievement.
  • Fire-Spewers are an effective way to deal damage to the Killer Robot, as it moves slowly and does not wait for the fire like normal NPCs. It is possible to abuse the robot's pathfinding and eventually destroy it, though this is very difficult if you have not already removed its ammunition with an Ammo Stealer.
  • It can be knocked into a hole - Leafblower may be the easiest way to do this.
  • Time Bomb and Remote Bomb definitely come in handy for explosive-based playstyles.
  • Another effective way to safely get rid of the killer robot is to lure it into an area with a turret. Since it doesn't shoot anything else but the player, you can keep fooling it into going in the opposite direction, staying in the camera's radius. This feat can be more easily achieved in a bank, where the building is usually looped so you can get around faster.
