Laptop is a Special Ability used by the Hacker. It functions like a Hacking Tool with unlimited uses, but this power comes with a downside; unlike a Hacking Tool, hacking with a Laptop has a 50% chance to cause an alarm which alerts the owners of the object. Alerted owners will briefly patrol the outside of the building and will become Hostile if they discover you.

- Speed Coder - Hacking takes no time
Super Special Ability[ | ]
- The Hacker's Super Special Ability makes their Laptop much stronger. Hacking doesn't cause people to become Hostile; Hacking takes no time; and most Hackable objects can be blown up.
Tips and Strategies[ | ]
- You can move at full speed while hacking, but be careful not to move too far away or the hack will be canceled.
- Hacking can be done from any location, as long as the target can be seen on-screen. As NPCs only check around their own buildings when alerted by the alarm, a good strategy is to hide in neighboring buildings, behind walls or in nearby alleys while hacking.
- Don't hack in front of the police! They're totally square, man, and will become hostile when they see you.
- After Installing Malware on a computer to complete the Hacker's Big Quest, Cop Bots will be deployed that can detect your Laptop. Avoid them or, if you don't mind causing a bit of chaos, hack them, too!
