Law Abiding Law Enforcer is the Big Quest for the Cop (and can also be chosen for Custom Characters). In this quest, you earn "Marks" by arresting or killing NPCs marked as Guilty, in order to become a Supercop. The goal is to earn 10 Marks per floor, 30 Marks per district, and 150 Marks for the entire run.

You lose 1 Mark for arresting an innocent NPC and 2 Marks for killing an innocent NPC.

Super Special Ability

While playing as the Cop after completing Law Abiding Law Enforcer, with Super Special Abilities (Mutator) enabled:

  • The Law no longer causes you to lose XP when killing or arresting innocents.

Tips and Strategies

  • Like the quest says, you need to play by the book. Try to avoid arresting/killing innocents whenever possible.
  • It's better to arrest the Guilty instead of killing them whenever possible.
  • It's worth searching each level fully for Guilty NPCs. The more you arrest/kill, the better.
  • Drug Dealers are easy Guilty NPCs. Arrest every one you find.
  • Stealing will not cause you to lose Marks but you will still lose XP as normal.
  • Always pay attention to your targets' Guilty status or you could lose a lot of Marks really quickly by accident.
  • Your Mark counts CAN go negative so be careful.
  • Certain disasters are useful for spawning a constant stream of guilty NPCs to arrest or kill.
  • Weapons that stun or freeze NPCs are useful, allowing you to arrest a hostile character for extra marks.
  • Causing NPCs to hit another NPC will make them Guilty, however property owners are not affected by this.
  • The special trait Crooked is extremely useful, as Crooked+ prevents XP and Big Quest Mark loss.
  • Successful completion of this Big Quest is essentially a free win condition for a run because as a Supercop you will be able to simply walk up to the Mayor and arrest him with no negative reaction from your fellow Supercops.
