Captives have known to exclaim "12 years a slave? Heck, make it an even 20!". Actually, that has never once happened. As for all the form-fitting leather? Well, everybody has their thing, ok? | bigquest = Catch 'Em All! }} The Slavemaster is an NPC and a player character. The Slavemaster wears a traditional executioner's uniformm. The Slavemaster can be unlocked by purchasing 4 Slaves. This can be done over multiple runs. == NPC == Slavemasters can be found in groups of 1-3 with 1-3 Slaves. Slavemasters are armed with an Axe, a Sword, or a Sledgehammer. Players can purchase Slaves from them for $60, scaled by floor. Attacking any of the Slavemasters or their Slaves will cause all of them to become Hostile. Slavemasters will also become Hostile if they see the player attempting to free a Slave with a Slave Helmet Remover, Wrench, Hacking or with EMP; they also attack characters with the Scumbag Slaughterer trait and Mech Pilots riding Mech suits on sight. == Store == {| class="wikitable" ! NPC ! Price |- | Slave | $60 - $240 |} == Drops == * Money * Axe * Sledgehammer * Sword == Tips and Strategies == === Playable === * How to fight: Let your Slaves go in first to soften up your enemies up. Don't fight near them because you can hit them, and they will explode when they die. It doesn't really matter if your Slaves die, because they are so easy to obtain. Without Slaves, you are not helpless. You're okay in melee but you are better with guns. The Taser can be useful when running away if you can't risk fighting for some reason. * How to finish a mission: Slaves are perfect for infiltrating hideouts or retrieving items. Make sure to get the most out of the Slave Helmet Remote on each floor; on demand explosions are really useful. * Remember, your Slaves are not your friends. You are a bad person who is victimizing them; while they are Submissive toward you, if you keep them around for long enough, they will turn on you. Don't be afraid to give them weapons if the situation calls for it, though. * You can use a Slave like a Grenade or a Remote Bomb to break through walls. Tell a Slave to guard a location near the wall then use your Slave Helmet Remote to make them explode. You can even do this from a distance so that property owners will not get mad at you. * The Slave Helmet Remote will make all of your Slaves explode, and you are limited to 3 uses per floor. Make sure you plan out how best to use it. * Slaves explode when they die or if they move too far away from you. You can weaponize this by telling a slave to wait next to a wall and walking away, using them as breaching charges; this lets you save on remote charges. * Ideological Clash will make random NPCs Hostile toward you. While law enforcement will not attack you for fighting back, the best way to handle it is to lure the NPC to a sparsely populated or secluded area and kill or Enslave them. * Cops and Supercops make excellent slaves. They come with powerful weapons and are still Aligned with other Cops. You can easily start a huge firefight by attacking enemies in the street with your Cop slaves. * Neither the Taser or Enslave are silent. Combined with Poor Hand-Eye Coordination, you might be interrupted by other enemies during Enslave if you are not careful. *Getting rid of Poor Hand-Eye Coordination on the Augmentation Booth will make Enslaving a lot easier. === NPC === * Slavemasters have average stats, but are equipped with various strong melee weapons such as Axes, Swords and Sledgehammers and appear in groups of 1-3. These strong weapons make them quite dangerous, especially when one is equipped with a Sledgehammer. * Because they always have Axes, Swords and sometimes Sledgehammers, they are good targets to loot. You can kill them, knock them out, or buy their weapons with Art of the Deal. * Slave shops often appear in the streets outside; fighting the Slavemasters will alert the Cops and they will assist the Slavemasters in a fight, as slavery is legal under the Mayor's oppressive regime. * Slavemasters play a key role in Missions to Free Slaves. To complete the mission, you can: ** Buy the Slave and free them; buying a Slave will always give you the slave linked to the mission. ** Kill or Knock out the Slavemasters - in this case, all the slaves will automatically became free, but be careful to not hurt them in the process of killing their masters! ** Use the Hypnotizer Mark II to make a Slavemaster Aligned with you and ask them for a slave for free; this works the same way as buying a Slave. ** Using a Wrench or a Slave Helmet Remover to take off the target's Slave Helmet. ** Hacking the Slave's helmet to deactivate it. ** Throwing an EMP Grenade or using Power Sap on the Slave to disable the helmet. ** If you are playing a Shapeshifter, you can become the Slavemaster and free your slaves via possession, or possess the Slave and buy your freedom. It isn't recommended to do this as the Former Slave will be Hostile after you leave their body, unless you have Possessions are Peachy Keen or the Super Special Abilities mutator on. == Notes == * Slavemaster NPCs lack the Ideological Clash trait of the playable version. Other Slavemasters and their slaves will, inexplicably, still turn Hostile towards a Slavemaster player due to Ideological Clash and will team up with each other in attacking them. * In the No Melee Weapons mutator. Slavemasters will have Shotguns or Machineguns instead of Axes or Sledgehammers. They have a Firearms attribute of 3, better than their Melee attribute of 2, so this mutator makes them significantly more dangerous. *Teleporting with a Slavemaster in your party will leave their Slaves behind, causing them to explode due to distance from their master. == Quotes == * "Slaves for sale!" (General Chat) * "Bye slave! I'm going to miss you soooo much! SAD!" (When Slave is purchased/when Slave buys their freedom) * "Terribly sorry, but I'm out of slaves today!" (When asked to purchase slave however all slaves have been sold or killed) * "Don't take this the wrong way, but you're not good enough for my beautiful slaves." (When asked to purchase slave however the player has the trait Antisocial) * "Too many people! My slaves deserve your special attention!" (When asked to purchase slave but the player has too many followers) * "Hello my little minion!" (When shapeshifter possesses a Slave with helmet) * "You already got one! Don't tell me you broke him already!" (When the player already has a slave and doesn't have any party traits) == Trivia == * Slavemaster became a playable character class in Alpha 28 after being an NPC-only class in earlier alphas. *The Slavemaster was originally a pimp in the first build; as the game transitioned toward a relatively light-hearted tone, they took on their current form. However, this original design may have inspired the gimp-like appearance of the final Slavemaster's uniform. Nav playable characters
