The Taser is a projectile weapon in Streets of Rogue that when shot at a NPC, will give them the status effect Electrocuted. Shooting the Taser at an NPC standing on or in a body of water will deal 30 damage and will still apply the Electrocuted effect.
The Slavemaster starts with this item, and it can be sold by Shopkeepers or found in Chests and Safes. It can also be used by pacifists.
This is the only projectile weapon that has infinite ammo, besides the research gun.
The Firearms attribute only affects the weapon's accuracy, but it shoots in a relatively straight line in the first place, having a good bit less spread than the Pistol. The 10 second cooldown is always the same regardless of the player's firearms level.

Tips and Strategies
- This item is very useful for the Doctor, being one of the three gun weapons that the Doctor can use, as you can Electrocute the target and go behind to Chloroform them.
- The Cop will find it useful when making arrests, along with Dizzy Grenades the Cop starts with.
- The taser works well with Bite, as it allows you to make someone stand still so you can bite them.
- It also complements the Shapeshifter as well, as you can stun the target you want to Possess if they are aggro'd and Hostile towards you. (Other items that are useful for this are the Freeze Ray and Dizzy Grenades.)
- Unlike the others, the Firefighter can also use it in combination with the Water Cannon which creates puddles to deal heavy damage to people that are in the water puddle.
- While the Gorilla cannot use this weapon, any custom characters with Primal Lunge can abuse the electricity effect to get in a free Primal Lunge from farther away, due to the taser's 4 second stun duration. Basically, you could use the taser to "combo" into Primal Lunge. Especially useful when you have no other ranged options.
- It can also be useful for the assassin to walk behind a stunned enemy, activate camouflage, and punch them for an easy kill on hostile targets.
